Filling Perturbative Ground States
نویسنده
چکیده
It is possible to dress the quark propagator to all orders with zeromomentum gluons from the perturbative ground state. The dressed quark has no pole and thus cannot appear as an external particle in the S-matrix. Chiral symmetry may be spontaneously broken, but Lorentz and gauge symmetry is exact. Adding loop corrections to this “dressed tree approximation” gives a formally exact PQCD expansion.

Mott-insulator phase of the one-dimensional Bose-Hubbard model: A high-order perturbative study
The one-dimensional Bose-Hubbard model at a unit filling factor is studied by means of a very high-order symbolic perturbative expansion. Analytical expressions are derived for the ground-state quantities such as energy per site, variance of on-site occupation, and correlation functions: âj âj+r and n̂jn̂j+r . These findings are compared to numerics and good agreement is found in the Mott insulat...
متن کاملUnderstanding the 5/2 fractional quantum Hall effect without the Pfaffian wave function.
It is demonstrated that an understanding of the 5/2 fractional quantum Hall effect can be achieved within the composite fermion theory without appealing to the Pfaffian wave function. The residual interaction between composite fermions plays a crucial role in establishing incompressibility at this filling factor. This approach has the advantage of being amenable to systematic perturbative impro...

متن کاملQuantum theory of quantum Hall smectics
We propose a quantum stripe ~smectic! coupled-Luttinger-liquid model for the anisotropic states which occur in two-dimensional electron systems with high-index partial Landau-level filling, n*5n2@n# . Perturbative renormalization-group calculations establish that interaction terms neglected in this model are relevant —probably driving the system into an anisotropic Wigner crystal—but for 0.4&n*...
متن کاملTheory of electrons with orbital degeneracy
The Hubbard model for electrons with orbital degeneracy is shown to have an underlying SUd(4) symmetry of spin-orbital double. A hidden charge SUc(4) symmetry is exposed and an extended Lieb-Mattis transformation, which maps these two symmetries into each other, is given. On the basis of elementary degenerate perturbative theory, it is shown that the system with strong repulsive coupling is equ...
